The girl with the dragon tattoo (original title in swedish: män som hatar kvinnor; in english: men who hate women) is a psychological thriller novel by swedish author and journalist stieg larsson (1954–2004), which was published posthumously in 2005 to become an international bestseller.. The swedish version of the girl with the dragon tattoo(män som hatar kvinnor) was very good but i feel it is somewhat overrated. nothing particularly weak about it but still not as good as some claim.. The previous books in the series have been adapted into swedish-language films, and the girl with the dragon tattoo was a remake of the swedish film. it became a global hit for columbia pictures.
